GRATEFUL DEAD JERRY GARCIA FINAL CONCERT TICKET STUB 1995?CHICAGO 7/9/95 PSA 3

2ND HIGHEST GRADED/ONLY 1 HIGHERPSA 3 VERY GOOD On July 9, 1995, the Grateful Dead played the second and final night of their tour-closing run at Chicago’s Soldier Field featuring an opening performance from The Band. The show marked the completion of a long and winding spring/summer tour, a run throughout which lead guitarist Jerry Garcia seemed to many like a shell of his former self. Once again, he was beleaguered by time in front of huge, stadium-sized venues packed to the brim with excited fans. Garcia struggled through equipment difficulties all night, eventually having to replace his “Rosebud” guitar with his older “Tiger.” According to Bob Weir in his Netflix documentary The Other One, he and Garcia shared some short but sweet words as they walked offstage: “Always a hoot,” Garcia said, “Always a hoot.” Exactly one month later, on August 9th, 1995, Jerry Garcia passed away, his heart finally giving out after years of hard living and declining health. July 9th, 1995 at Soldier Field became the Grateful Dead’s final show. While not among their best shows by a long stretch, 7/9/95 still packs an emotional punch to this day in light of its significance as Jerry’s last performance. You can feel the weight of the show’s cosmic significance throughout, particularly on songs like encore closer “Box of Rain”. And, of course, there was the gorgeous yet bittersweet mid-second set “So Many Roads”, with Garcia’s moving vocals ensuring that there was not a dry eye in the stadium by the time the tune was finished despite some musical struggles. You can watch a full video of “So Many Roads” from the final Grateful Dead show at Soldier Field on 7/9/95 RIP Jerry. We miss you.Setlist: Grateful Dead | Soldier Field | Chicago, IL | 7/9/95Set One: Touch of Grey, Little Red Rooster, Lazy River, Masterpiece*, Childhood’s End, Cumberland Blues, Promised LandSet Two: Shakedown Street, Samson & Delilah, So Many Roads, Samba in the Rain, Corrina -> Drums -> Space -> Unbroken Chain, Sugar MagnoliaEncore: Black Muddy River, Box of Rain* Weir on acoustic*(The Band opened) GRATEFUL DEAD JERRY GARCIA FINAL CONCERT TICKET STUB 1995?CHICAGO 7/9/95PSA 3 VERY GOODONLY 1 GRADED HIGHER

Grateful Dead Dave's Picks 8 11/30/80 Fox Theatre - Brand New, Sealed & Numbered

eBay Brand New, Sealed and Numbered. Amazing Show – Rare and hard to find new – limited to a 13,000 unit production run. Dave's Picks Volume 8 is a three-CD live album by the rock band the Grateful Dead. It contains the complete concert from November 30, 1980, at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. It was produced as a limited edition of 13,000 numbered copies, and was released on November 1, 2013. This album is the first officially released Grateful Dead matrix recording. Matrix recordings digitally synchronize an amateur audience recording with the soundboard audio in order to add the natural, reverberant sound of the performance hall and the excitement of the audience. This can increase the "live feel" of what might be a "dry", or sometimes relatively lifeless recording. Various ratios of the two can be blended to reduce sound errors from microphone bleeding or errant mixing levels while adding the ambient sounds of the venue and lessening the possibly amateurish sound quality captured by microphones in the audience.[3] Volume 8 was the first of the Dave's Picks albums to feature Brent Mydland on keyboards, and the first that was recorded after the 1970s. In a November 2012 article in The New Yorker about the vast recorded legacy of the Grateful Dead, Nick Paumgarten had written about an audience recording of this concert.[4] He was then asked to write the album liner notes, which discuss the provenance of the unusually high quality audience recording (captured from the balcony by Bob Wagner) and reference the popular Martin Mull quote comparing writing about music to "dancing about architecture [5] Track 1First set:"Feel Like a Stranger" (Bob Weir, John Perry Barlow) – 9:19"Loser" (Jerry Garcia, Robert Hunter) – 8:17"Cassidy" (Weir, Barlow) – 5:14"Ramble On Rose" (Garcia, Hunter) – 7:55"Little Red Rooster" (Willie Dixon) – 9:33"Bird Song" (Garcia, Hunter) – 9:22"Me and My Uncle" > (John Phillips) – 2:59"Big River" (Johnny Cash) – 5:55"It Must Have Been the Roses" (Hunter) – 7:13Disc 2"Lost Sailor" > (Weir, Barlow) – 6:34"Saint of Circumstance" (Weir, Barlow) – 6:31"Deal" (Garcia, Hunter) – 8:03Second set:"Scarlet Begonias" > (Garcia, Hunter) – 11:44"Fire on the Mountain" (Mickey Hart, Hunter) – 10:50"Samson and Delilah" (traditional, arranged by Weir) – 7:40"Ship of Fools" (Garcia, Hunter) – 8:49Disc 3"Playing in the Band" > (Weir, Hart, Hunter) – 15:53"Drums" > (Hart, Bill Kreutzmann) – 11:25"Space" > (Garcia, Phil Lesh, Weir) – 4:23"The Wheel" > (Garcia, Kreutzmann, Hunter) – 6:49"China Doll" > (Garcia, Hunter) – 6:50"Around and Around" > (Chuck Berry) – 4:01"Johnny B.
