JERRY GARCIA SIGNED AUTOGRAPH "GARCIA" 1st VINYL RECORD - GRATEFUL DEAD LEGEND.
Offered here is Jerry Garcia's first solo vinyl 1972 record "Garcia" signed in black sharpie marker. Album was signed personally for me by Jerry during a personal meet and greet at the Jerry Garcia art exhibit at the Ambassador Gallery in New York City in March of 1993. Please see photos. This original vinyl record is a first pressing of the album and is in very good condition. Album and the record are beautifully framed in a mother of pearl frame with black matting to accentuate the original signature in the lower right of the album jacket. Please see photos. Included here also in the sale is an original invitation to the Jerry Garcia exhibit at the same gallery in 1994. Please see photos. The photo of me with Jerry during the meet and greet is not included. You can have a screen shot of that if you like. However, I can also put in writing for the purchaser of this rare item, a narrative of any portion you like of the 45 second experience that Ambassador Galley allotted me to visit with Jerry. I will sign that and have it notarized as some sort of authentication. (As if a photo with me and Jerry is not enough!?!)Autographed albums by Jerry Garcia are extremely rare to find and I have never seen his first record "Garcia" with an autograph at any time. Additionally, the signature is a 10 out of 10 with everlasting black sharpie. Just a side note, Jerry was very gracious and signed several items for me and my brother that night. He did have a pice of carrot stick from the deli tray stuck in his throat causing him to cough while we spoke and he did have dandruff. Other than that it was a glorious minute in my life. I am, now willing to part with this exquisite and rare signed record as I am now thinning the heard on my valuable collectibles and signed records collections. I will be listing a few other signed records in the coming days on eBay (both Grateful Dead and non Dead related) and I currently have a pencil signed Jerry Garcia lithograph "Butterfly Study" for sale as well and listed on eBay. (Update: Sorry to all, my eBay listed pencil signed Butterfly Study has sold.)All questions are welcome. Thanks for looking.

Original First Print BG-45 Concert Poster Doors Grateful Dead 1967 Type I
Beautiful and very rare First Printing ( type I ) 1967 San Francisco 'Bill Graham Presents' BG-45 poster featuring The Grateful Dead, Doors, Junior Wells and The Chicago Blues Band. A punchy psychedelic silk screen by iconic San Francisco artist Wes Wilson printed before the January 13 - 15, 1967 Filmore auditorium shows. Wes Wilson is arguably the father of the psychedelic rock poster. His style, often inspired by the organic whiplash lines of Art Nouveau, took what was understood about promotional art and turned it inside-out. Cryptic, nearly incomprehensible letters filled every available space, lines melted into lines, colors clashed... and the psychedelic poster was born. There are two 'first print' versions of this poster- one has a very thin black line running across the top of the lettering, separating the purple from the upper green; the other has a much thicker black line without the purple. The thin-line version- the type on offer here- is much scarcer than the thick-line type, and it rarely shows up. This is one of the rarer and more desirable posters of the 'psychedelic' San Francisco scene, leading up to the 'Summer of Love' in 1969.

Grateful Dead Original Concert Poster Milwaukee Daydream Productions Arts Center
Wow, look what I found while preparing to move to warmer and less taxed climes! I forgot we had it.An original Grateful Dead poster from a performance at the Milwaukee Performance Art Center. I think it was sometime during the 1970's. From looking online it appears the concert was on October 23 -24, 1972. The poster was courtesy of Daydream Productions Color is a darkish brownish. Sometimes it looks almost black depending how the light hits it. Size is about 27 1/2" x 17 1/2". The edges have some small tears and there are some creases. It has some pin holes as it was tacked to a wall at some point. If you check out the back it has some marks (probably tape). But all in all it's not in too bad condition considering how old it is and how unusual it is. I have yet to find a poster like it online. PLEASE LOOK AT ALL THE PHOTOS (if you need more just ASK!). Also, ask any questions before you buy.The poster has never been rolled and will be shipped flat, which I am sorry to say increases the shipping packing materials costs. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.

Grateful Dead Europe '72 The Complete Recordings 73 CD Box NUMBER 6924 MINT
Mint condition 73 Cd box with all inserts - this is number 6924.I will ship in a large padded box - which will weigh 15 pounds total Because you dared dream this might happen one day… Because you went down to the Gypsy Woman and offered up your first-born to try to make it happen… Because there are enough passionate Dead Heads at Rhino/GD who thought it might be cool for this to happen, well, it happened!! Released in September 2011, this is a gargantuan EUROPE ’72 MEGA-BOX SET containing ALL 22 SHOWS of what is arguably the greatest tour the Grateful Dead ever played, on a whopping and clearly cosmic 73 DISCS (over 70 hours of music!). Really, at this point we probably don’t need to lay on too much hype about how wonderful the music is: Chances are, if you’re even considering buying a copy of this enormous box, you already know how amazing the Dead’s tour of Europe in April and May of 1972 was. To review briefly, though, the Dead’s first tour outside of North America took them to all sorts of historic and unusual venues in England, Denmark, West Germany, France, Holland and even tiny Luxembourg. Many members of the Dead “family” came along on what was really an extended working vacation that was designed to both expose the Dead to new audiences and also reward the band for their unlikely conquest of America during the preceding two years. As a hedge against the costs of the nearly two-month trip, the Dead’s label, Warner Bros., paid for the band to lug around a 16-track recorder to capture the entire tour… and we’re glad they did! This was a band at the top of its game, still ascending in the wake of three straight hit albums — Workingman’s Dead, American Beauty and the live Grateful Dead (“Skull & Roses”). It had been a year since the lineup had gone to its single-drummer configuration, six months since Keith Godchaux had been broken in as the group’s exceptional pianist, and this marked the first tour to feature Donna Godchaux as a member of the touring band. There was a ton on new, unreleased material that came into the repertoire in the fall of ’71 (after “Skull & Roses” was out) and during the spring of ’72, including “Tennessee Jed,” “Jack Straw,” “Mexicali Blues,” “He’s Gone,” “Comes A Time,” “Ramble on Rose,” “One More Saturday Night,” “Black Throated Wind,” “Looks Like Rain” and Pigpen’s “Chinatown Shuffle,” “The Stranger (Two Souls in Communion)” and “Mr. Charlie.” (Sadly, this was Pigpen’s final tour.) All those future classics were interspersed with songs from the aforementioned “hit” albums—such as “Uncle John’s Band,” “Brokedown Palace,” “Cumberland Blues,” “Casey Jones,” “Sugar Magnolia,” “Bertha,” “Not Fade Away,” et al — and then were topped off by loads of big jamming numbers — the Europe ’72 tour produced spectacular versions of “Dark Star,” “The Other One” “Playing in the Band,” “Truckin’ ” “China Cat Sunflower” > “I Know You Rider,” “Good Lovin’,” “Lovelight” and even the early Pig chestnut “Caution.” And that’s leaving out a truckload of other tunes, too! There wasn’t a clunker show in the bunch, and many are acknowledged today as classics. No doubt you already have some favorites. Through the years, there have been a few releases of material from the Europe tour—starting with the 3-album Europe ’72 which knocked our socks off in the fall of that year, and followed many years later by material from a pair of German shows and the fantastic 4-CD Stepping Out, culled from the group’s eight shows in England. But this is IT!! Jeffrey Norman, who has been the primary mixer of Dead archival multi-track material for the past 15 years, has spent many months toiling over the 16-track masters from the tour, and will continue working on the mixes through the Winter and Spring, employing the high-tech Plangent Processes transfer and restoration tools, trying to get every show to sound “just exactly perfect” (as Bob Weir says) for this release. You might think you’ve heard that intense “Dark Star” > “Sugar Mag” > “Caution” from Copenhagen, but I guarantee you’ve never heard it sound this alive! Mastering to HDCD specs is two-time Grammy-winning engineer David Glasser of Airshow Mastering. Needless to say, all the songs that turned up on previous Europe compilations will be appear in their proper show contexts, and in the case of songs from the Europe ’72 album, without overdubs that were added later.(I will happily combine purchases to save you on shipping costs.) (Condition: New (Other))
