23Stk256GMIOGE ERXGrateful Dead F&F Owsley “ Bear “ Stanley Super Rare 1938 Steal your Face BuckleSuper rare stamped #3 made in 1983 in Silver Belt Buckle This is a Super Rare very low production hand made belt buckle. Some were made in Bronze and some were made in Silver This particular buckle is silver It is stamped serial # 3 on the back in the middle Signed by “ Owsley Stanley “ Dated “ 1983 “ Stamped: “ PS/BT “ & “ GDP “ for Grateful Dead Productions This piece of friends of family and the logo is “ Steal your Face “ The numbers on the backs of these buckles represented the number of a specific mold he used and helped to identify which particular mold produced each buckle. The molds were numbered 1 thru 6. Buckles were made in bronze and silver. Technically a number 6 is no less valuable than a number 3, however there were limited amounts produced in Silver and precious few number 3’s ever made, which makes this one more rare than the rest !!! This is very rare and not may were made, so the value now will only increase.A good investment for any collector. Buckle is in great condition , buckle loop works and moved nicely, buckle loop is straight as was when made, has some typical minor nicks and surface scratches from use over the years No case or box Approx. measurements: 2 1/8” by 2 1/8” Heavy and solid made My Sale Disclosures: If you were lucky enough to win this auction or you bought it outright, Please know that we are a local mom and pop style family pawnshop In San Francisco..
