eBay This is a flyer / handbill for the First Annual Newport Pop Festival, held at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa California, on the weekend of August 3-4, 1968. It is believed to have been the first pop music concert with over 100,000 paid attendees.The Festival featured AMAZING 60's bands, such as the Byrds, The Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Country Joe and the Fish, Sonny & Cher, etc. This original, vintage flyer is in excellent condition, and was carefully stored since the festival in the summer of 1968 in a cool, dark box, so it has no fade, wear or damage, except a crease that is barely noticeable, but please refer to the photos to confirm for yourself, or ask me to send you more photos - happy to do so. The Flyer is in the shape of a 45 record. It is very cool, and amazing, original time capsule item from the 1960s music scene.
