Up for auction is an original first-printing concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing at Shea's Theater in Buffalo, New York on Saturday night, January 20, 1979. Billed as "An Extraordinary Event," the show was presented by the Buffalo State College Student Union Board (funded by U.S.G.). This is the real thing, original, first printing poster (not a reprint) printed on quality paper stock by Octobergraphics (Buffalo NY) and features vibrant red, white & blue artwork by Andrew Elias. Measures 17" x 22" and is in excellent condition, very clean, no folds, creases, pin-holes or tape marks. There is one small 1" (one inch) tear on the left edge of the poster. Other than that, the poster is really like new. It has been carefully stored flat and protected by me for over 40 years. See photos for all details. This is a famous and much desirable Dead concert poster and has been featured in The Art of Rock: Posters from Presley to Punk, Abbeville Press, New York, 1987, page 406. Poster will be shipped rolled in heavy-duty mailing tube inside insured priority mail box tube.
