FOR SALE- ORIGINAL 1ST PRINT OF BG-9 POSTER SIGNED BY WES WILSON - THIS IS THE REAL DEAL AND IS IN APPARENTLY NEAR MINT MINUS CONDITION, SLIGHT RESTORATION TO THE TWO LOWER CORNERS, TWO TAPE PULLS ON THE BACK AND SLIGHT HANDLING Fillmore Auditorium 6/3-4/66 Catalog No. BG-9The BG-9 poster was designed by Wes Wilson and features the band names in an expanding, geyser-like arrangement. The Grateful Dead was the headline act and The Mothers of Invention and Quicksilver also starred. Interestingly, a bootleg of the original poster turned up last year that was probably made more than 30 years ago. These bootlegs were so good that they turned up in a number of large collections of BG posters. The only discernible difference is a one quarter inch change in the image size.The original poster was printed on white stock and measures approximately 14? x 20?. The Union logo #72 appears in the lower left corner. A deceptive counterfeit exists that closely mimics the original. These can be differentiated by measuring from the upper left corner of the image above and left of the “B” in “Bill” to the lower right corner of the image below and right of the “O” in “San Francisco”. This will measure 22 29/64" on the original and 22 15/64" on the counterfeit. The second print poster was printed on white stock and measures approximately 14? x 20??. The union logo has been deleted and the notation “#9” appears to the right of the “O” in “San Francisco.”

RARE Grateful Dead Panther Hall poster original vintage. 22-1/8×28" first printing poster for Feb. 20, 1970 concert at Panther Hall in Fort Worth, TX featuring The Grateful Dead and Quicksilver Messenger Service.Day-glo poster art by an unknown artist features great psychedelic image of skull at center w/Peace symbol in one eye socket, a nuclear explosion in the other.The skull's nose is made up of rocket w/smaller rocket within. Skull also features eagle heads at cheeks and smiling woman's face between eyes. Skull's crown features band of eyes. Winged Mercury figure stands at upper right, holding "War Over... Peace At Last" scroll. Foreground of poster features three graves, each w concert ticket text. Grateful Dead Yardbirds 1968 Poster aor fd bg Jimmy Page Led Zeppelin
Here is one of the Crown Jewels of 1960's rock and roll posters. This poster was produced for a run of 1968 shows in Miami by the Grateful Dead, Country Now and the Yardbirds when Jimmy Page was in the band. This is easily one of the top 5 most beautiful Dead posters and one of the rarest. In my 25 years of collecting I have seen maybe 4 or 5 examples of this poster come up for sale and those usually had issues like tears, tack holes or fading. This example has rich colors, as nice as the day it was printed. When I acquired it there as a clean fold down the middle which I had professionally flattened by one of the best conservators in the U.S. The poster is perfectly flat and there is only a faint hint of the previous fold visible from the back. There are no color breaks. This particular poster had a set of clean staple holes in the corners which naturally closed when the conservator flattened the poster. This poster has had zero restoration and is as close to mint and you will ever find. The Dead are long gone. Dead & Co are done and all things vintage Dead are being bought up by institutions. Whether you collect the Dead, or Jimmy Page/Zeppelin, this would be one of the Crown Jewels of your collection. This original poster measures 12 x 18 inches and is printed in 3 colors on light green paper. Thanks for looking!

It measures 13 11/16" X 21" and is printed on thick heavy paper. I believe the poster to be the first printing (per internet). It is marked on back "Copyright 1967 Made in Canada" along with printer "Organic Arts 9031 Hudson Street Vancouver 14, B.C.". Condition of the poster is very good. There are thumbtack holes in all four corners along with some minor creases throughout. Additionally there is some writing in ink on the back "OAC17". Original First Print BG-45 Concert Poster Doors Grateful Dead 1967 Type I
Beautiful and very rare First Printing ( type I ) 1967 San Francisco 'Bill Graham Presents' BG-45 poster featuring The Grateful Dead, Doors, Junior Wells and The Chicago Blues Band. A punchy psychedelic silk screen by iconic San Francisco artist Wes Wilson printed before the January 13 - 15, 1967 Filmore auditorium shows. Wes Wilson is arguably the father of the psychedelic rock poster. His style, often inspired by the organic whiplash lines of Art Nouveau, took what was understood about promotional art and turned it inside-out. Cryptic, nearly incomprehensible letters filled every available space, lines melted into lines, colors clashed... and the psychedelic poster was born. There are two 'first print' versions of this poster- one has a very thin black line running across the top of the lettering, separating the purple from the upper green; the other has a much thicker black line without the purple. The thin-line version- the type on offer here- is much scarcer than the thick-line type, and it rarely shows up. This is one of the rarer and more desirable posters of the 'psychedelic' San Francisco scene, leading up to the 'Summer of Love' in 1969.

1968 Grateful Dead at Crystal Ball Room Portland Oregon Handbill Poster PNW Tour
NOTICE!ORIGINAL 1968 First Printing of The Grateful Dead and The Quicksilver Messenger Service w/ PH Phactor Jug Band. Apparently, this tour of the "Great Pacific Northwest" was the band's first time attempting to book all its own dates. The posters and handbills were done in a wild, wild west motif - complete with faux wrinkled and dirty paper. Collectors attempt to collect the set for this tour. It's not easy as these are very rare.A MINT and CGC graded 9.8 and certified version of this handbill sold recently at Heritage Auction for just over $16K.There are staple holes along the top and bottom margins. As you can see in the photos there is a hole from a staple pull at the upper right side and a "pull" from a staple hole on the lower left corner. This handbill was printed by The Bindweed Press of San Francisco and measures 6"x10" and is for the Fri. Sat. Feb. 2 & 3 show at The Crystal Ball Room in Portland Oregon. Grateful Dead at The Rock Garden, San Francisco, 3/28 to 4/2, 1967
Very rare diamond shaped Grateful Dead Poster advertising their multi-day concerts at the Rock Garden in San Francisco.The blue colored issue was printed much less than the plum colored print.The dates were printed incorrectly, so an "8" was added to the March date and the "8' was struck from the April date.These shows were scheduled 10 days after their first Warner Bros release. Rumor has it Garcia's mother attended as her first show.The Rock Garden was short lived as a venue for rock as it appears it only had the groups Love, Grateful Dead, Buffalo Springfield and Country Joe.Any Rock Garden poster is a rarity, but this blue version GD is simply not found.The poster is in very good condition with a single staple hole in each corner and some bends in a couple of the corners.Colors are crisp and bright.Poster will be securely shipped flat.
