The Grateful Dead was the headline act and The Mothers of Invention and Quicksilver also starred. Interestingly, a bootleg of the original poster turned up last year that was probably made more than 30 years ago. These bootlegs were so good that they turned up in a number of large collections of BG posters. The only discernible difference is a one quarter inch change in the image size.The original poster was printed on white stock and measures approximately 14? x 20?. The Union logo #72 appears in the lower left corner. A deceptive counterfeit exists that closely mimics the original. These can be differentiated by measuring from the upper left corner of the image above and left of the “B” in “Bill” to the lower right corner of the image below and right of the “O” in “San Francisco”. This will measure 22 29/64" on the original and 22 15/64" on the counterfeit. The second print poster was printed on white stock and measures approximately 14? x 20??. a warehouse find a while back. boxes of undistributed promo 45s from the mid to late 1960's. what some people refer to as " new old stock" or " dead stock"...this particular one is the most special of them.... a " Holy Grail " disc for collectors of 60's psychedelic records. an original FIRST PRESSING of the GRATEFUL DEAD's first single .. SCORPIO 201. " STEALIN' / DON'T EASE ME IN ". both sides credited to Jerry Garcia. This 45 is the first record the band did. The Scorpio label was very short lived (not to be confused with the Fantasy subsidiary of the same name). Only 250 copies were pressed. very scarce indeed. There were bootleg pressings of this 45 put out in the early 70's but ...THIS IS THE AUTHENTIC 1966 PRESSING in absolutely ARCHIVAL condition. It has the points of the first pressing. matte red labels and etched handwritten "Commercial Recorders Inc", the matrix numbers "002/201" and 003 210 followed by a symbol that looks like two SS with an L through them, and song titles in the dead wax. A REAL MUSEUM PIECE . condition is Minty. unplayed for sure, rarely handled, fully glossy, a couple very tiny, faint lines only noticeable under bright light inspection just from residing in a paper sleeve in a box for the last 57 years. ... A FANTASTIC COPY... There are many collectible items in the Grateful Dead universe. .. a first printing of the "Skull and Roses" poster or Acid berry Dropper Carousel Ballroom poster, the Trips Festival or the Owsley Bear belt buckle ..all real desirable bits of Dead ephemera but a copy of the debut record... that's something that will always be a special thing of enduring and increasing value.
Jerry Garcia Tiger Guitar Grateful Dead Custom Brand-new Mint. Well this is it ! The Last and hardest to part with Custom Jerry Guitar Tribute in my collection. As you mayor may not know, I had a few different custom jerry tributes in my collection. None of them were ever played. They were displayed in custom shadowbox frames on the wall in my home studio. Not long ago I was given the opportunity to purchase a used Garcia Tribute made by Alembic. As you may know, Alembics of any kind are not cheap....at all. With used ones sometimes selling for 10-15k. So I made a deal with the seller and he is holding the guitar for me until I sell all 3 of my custom ones in my collection. The other 2 sold and went to great homes already and this is the last one on the block. I've always wanted an Alembic Garcia Guitar and couldn't pass up the chance. This guitar for sale was custom ordered by me from Freddy Rose in California at Phred Guitars. Again, it has never been played...only displayed, and of course framed for protection. It comes with a custom made hard case from Phred as well. Not sure if you are familiar with Phreds Guitars ? at any rate...he makes Great! Guitars! but it takes Forever ! to get them. This one took 19 months to receive after I ordered it and I paid in full at the time of ordering. This is a great chance to get a custom Jerry Guitar in Brand New condition without having to wait the better part of 2 years before you get it. I have had it for a few years and it is beautiful !
